Microbial EVs
Vesicles from bacteria, fungi, protists and viruses.
Every microbe with vesicle cargo in the public proteomics and EV databases we read: how much each one has, from how many studies, how much of it maps to UniProt, and which cargo many species share.
Species
Cargo shared by five or more species
Molecules named the same way across species (gene names, from the source or from UniProt), found in the vesicles of at least five species. Accession-only rows are left out because they cannot be compared across species.
Microbial proteins that look human to a protein model
Sources: PRIDE, MassIVE, jPOST, iProX, MetaboLights, ExoCarta and Vesiclepedia records labelled with a microbe. Rows are what each study reported; a species with many rows may come from one large study. UniProt mapping uses identifiers first and gene or locus names second; about a third of mapped rows rest on names.
Known issues kept as reported: most Mycobacterium tuberculosis rows are human gene names under a microbe label (host background in the search), so they are excluded from shared cargo. "M. bovis" in the sources is Mycoplasmopsis bovis, not Mycobacterium bovis. Some species have deleted UniProt accessions or a search database from another organism, shown as the mapping gap.
